The total U.S. William Blair/PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists Pest Index increased 11 percent year-over-year in March 2025. This result is slightly above the long-term average index growth rate of 10 percent. On a sequential basis, the index increased 12 percent from February, which is in line with normal seasonal trends.

“The residential pest and commercial pest indices were similar to January and February,” says William Blair Equity Researcher Tim Mulrooney. “However, the mosquito index jumped considerably in March 2025, on an easy comparison with last year.”

Dan Gordon, managing member of PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists, adds, “This month’s results once again met expectations, showing the pest control industry’s consistency. We’ll have our eye on next month’s results to see if pest control buyers responded to April’s tariff-related economic quake.”

The month’s results by segment include:

  • The Residential Pest Index increased 11 percent year-over-year.
  • The Commercial Pest Index increased 12 percent year-over-year.
  • The Termite Index increased 9 percent year-over-year.
  • The Bed Bug Index increased 9 percent year-over-year.
  • The Mosquito Index increased 24 percent year-over-year.
